Description
In the Trekking of Cerro Benitez, we will discover the traces of the past by heading towards the north of Puerto Natales. Just over 25 km away, we will begin a day of exploration by walking through the Archaeological Park located within the Estancia Ernesto Helmer. The route offers views of imposing mountains, cracks, overhangs, and valleys. In the area, it's possible to access the roosts of condors that dominate the skies, and once we reach the summit, we will have a spectacular panoramic view towards the Eberhard Fjord, Señoret Canal, and also towards the iconic Laguna Sofía. Cerro Benitez is part of an archaeological and paleontological sector that houses rock paintings dating back approximately 3,500 years. We will visit the Window Cave and then, from the southeast side, we will enter the hidden cave, where we will enter with headlamps and carefully. This cave has an approximate height of 4 meters and its size is around 70 square meters. Inside, we will be able to observe ancient stalactites that formed due to the accumulation of salts and minerals from constant water filtration and dripping over thousands of years. Once this adventure is concluded, we will exit the cave and head towards a set of overhangs called 'Dos Herraduras' (Two Horseshoes). During this journey, we will walk through lush forests to finally observe the rock paintings on the walls of this rocky structure that was once underwater.Includes
