Description
Day 1: Exploration of the Salar de Uyuni and Villa Candelaria We will leave early, before dawn, to enter the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat in the world. The view will be lost in the vast salt expanse of 12,000 km², located at 3650 m altitude. You will have the opportunity to witness the sunrise and capture spectacular photographs, playing with perspective. The visit to Incahuasi Island, located in the centre of the salt flat, will offer a panoramic view of the immensity of the place. After enjoying this unique moment, we will leave the salt flat, passing through Colchani, the town where salt is processed and where you can buy souvenirs, before continuing on to Villa Candelaria. Day 2: Route to Huayllajara from Villa Candelaria After breakfast in Villa Candelaria, we will head towards San Juan, the starting point to the Chiguana salt flat. We will visit the Ollagüe viewpoint to contemplate the landscape of the Andes Mountains. We will explore a series of altiplanic lagoons, the highlight of which is the Hedionda Lagoon, home to flamingos, vicuñas and, if we are lucky, the Andean fox. Afterwards, we will enter the Siloli Desert, home to the famous Stone Tree. Continue to Laguna Colorada, a flamingo nesting area, before heading to Huayllajara for the second night's accommodation. Day 3: From Huayllajara to Quetena After breakfast in Huayllajara, we will continue by vehicle to the Sol de Mañana geysers. We will cross the Dali desert until we reach the Laguna Verde, located at 4250 m altitude, at the foot of the Licancabur volcano, on the border of Bolivia and Chile. We will pass through the Chaiviri salt flat, where we will enjoy hot springs before lunch. We will then explore the Kollpa lagoon before arriving in Quetena, where we will spend the last night of the tour.
