Description
Itinerary Day 1: The day will begin with pick-up at your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama at 7:00 a.m. and we will head to the border crossing between Chile and Bolivia in a shared vehicle. Once at the border, we will complete customs formalities and continue the journey in private transportation. During this journey, we will visit the Verde and Blanca lagoons, as well as the Polques hot springs. Afterwards, we will head to the Sol de Mañana geysers and the Colorada lagoon before arriving at our lodging in Villamar. Day 2: In the morning, we will leave for a place known as Italia Perdida, where we will be able to marvel at the rock formations of volcanic origin located in the altiplano. Then, we will visit the Vinto lagoon and the Rocas valley, before making a stop to contemplate the Anaconda canyon from a viewpoint, from where we can observe a river with a shape reminiscent of this Amazonian reptile. Afterwards, we will head to our lodging to enjoy dinner and rest. Day 3: We will start early in the morning to enter the Uyuni salt flat and find a strategic place to witness the sunrise. After this natural spectacle, we will walk through the vast white landscape of the salt flat until we reach Incahuasi Island. Here we will be able to walk along its paths and reach the top, from where we will have a 360° panoramic view of the salt flat. Then, we will visit the Salt Museum and the Dakar monument before leaving the salt flat to go to the town of Colchani. We will make a stop at the Train Cemetery to explore it and take pictures. Finally, we will pass through Uyuni before continuing on to Villamar, where we will spend the night. Day 4: This day is only the return from Villamar and is scheduled for 13:00 in the center or bus terminal of San Pedro de Atacama, so we will leave early from the accommodation to start the way to the border. Here we will complete the corresponding formalities and then we will continue by shared transport to San Pedro de Atacama, where we will finish the tour. It is important to note that this schedule may vary due to unfavorable weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Therefore, it is recommended to plan the departure from San Pedro de Atacama for the next day after the end of the tour. Note: Please note that the pick-up service is not available for accommodations outside the urban radius of San Pedro de Atacama, as well as for those located in ayllus near the city (Quitor, Yaye, Checar, Sequitor, Solor and Coyo), nor for accommodations in the town of Toconao. Altiplanic winter: During the months of January to April, the climatic phenomenon known as altiplanic winter, characterized by rain in the central Andes, is experienced. This could result in modifications to the itinerary, such as spending the second night in a hostel in Uyuni and omitting the visit to Incahuasi Island, which tends to have more water accumulation during this period.Includes
