Description

Our excursion will begin with pick-up from your hotel, located near the center of the city. We will head out of the city to explore Piedras Rojas and the Altiplanic Lagoons, two outstanding destinations within the Atacama Desert. Our first stop will be at the Piedras Rojas Lagoon, also known as the Salar de Aguas Calientes. To get there, we will board our vehicle and then walk for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once there, we will witness the striking copper-colored rock formations, as well as the surrounding lagoons and salt flats. Afterwards, we will move to the area of the Altiplanic Lagoons Miscanti and Miñiques, where our guide will give us information about the flora and fauna of the place. Afterwards, we will make a brief stop at the Chaxa Lagoon to observe the flamingos. We will also pass by Socaire and the Tropic of Capricorn, where we will have the opportunity to stop briefly to take pictures. Finally, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama, concluding our tour.
