Aguas Calientes Hot Springs
In the middle of the Puyehue National Park, Chile's wonderful ecological reserve, we find the Termas Aguas Calientes tourist complex. From Argentina, we were heading to Osorno, and in our passage through the place it was impossible to resist the temptation to feel a thermal bath in one of the best establishments located in the south of the neighboring country. This distinguished complex opens its doors to provide thermal baths, massages, aromatherapy and honey therapy between many other services.
Without hesitation, and with the excuse of finding out about water properties, we went straight to the administration to hire the full day service. The complex is surrounded by thick humid and evergreen forests, born from a volcanic geography accompanied by rivers and lakes. The peace of the place and the natural charm let us know that this day would be unforgettable.
The hot springs sprout pure from the earth, on the banks of the Chalelufú river. The complex has a personal expert in the thermal area, which is responsible for providing different therapies to visitors, complementing the healing properties of water. In addition to the traditional baths, you can enjoy intense sessions of nutritious massages, exfoliation with clay, aromatherapy and myelotherapy, among other services. These hot springs are particularly recommended in treatments of chronic conditions, such as rheumatism, arthritis, neuralgia, sciatica, respiratory diseases, skin and nervous system. It is not necessary to have some of these symptoms to take a thermal bath. The desire to enjoy is an excuse enough to feel them.
The thermal bath and the clay massages opened our appetites. For this reason we were invited to the restaurant 'Los Canelos' to taste some of the tasty dishes that include the menu of the place.
After lunch, we continue touring the facilities of Aguas Calientes to discover more about the place and its people. It should be noted that the service of the staff is excellent, and makes guests feel at home. People who wish to stay near the complex can do so in one of the 28 cabins located in the sector. They are fully equipped, and have a capacity of 2 to 10 people. A path seemed to invite us to cross it. In a few minutes we were submerged in the heart of the Valdivian jungle. A feeling of peace and relaxation ran through our being. The effect of the hot springs still lingered
In the midst of that trance, we met two guides from Aguas Calientes who offered us the possibility of doing a tall canopy, where we would glide through cables and platforms installed in the middle of the lush Puyehue National Park. While the route seemed lovely, because the canopy had a total of 8 platforms, 7 cables, 840 meters in length, and 2 crossings over the Chalelufú river, we decided that it would be best not to lose our axis and return to the complex to make our second Thermal bath, leaving the aerial adventure for another occasion.
Soon we were again installed in the 39 ° C temperature pools. Once again, we feel the pleasure of the thermal water and we are seduced by the overwhelming beauty of the place. After the last bath, we said goodbye to the staff. Our journey must continue. It was very gratifying to discover that there is a place like Aguas Calientes, a magical place where purity remains intact.
