Barrio Yungay

Food & Drinks Culinary & Nightlife Nightlife & Bars Things To Do

It is a traditional residential neighborhood of Santiago, which shows its own characteristics compared to the advance of modernity that other neighborhoods in the city show. It was founded with that name in honor of the victory of the United Restoration Army in the Battle of Yungay, on January 20, 1839, in the War against the Peru-Bolivian Confederation. The main landmark and starting point for tourists is the homonymous square, where the Monument to the Roto Chileno is located, which is a tribute to the town's Chilean.
