It is the only ski center located at 2,200 meters altitude. Receive athletes and visitors in a family atmosphere and respect for the wonderful natural environment that surrounds it. Lagunillas is the Center of Mountain Sports of the Province of Cordillera, of the Commune of San José de Maipo, located just 67 kilometers from the City of Santiago and 2,200 meters above sea level.
Due to its geographical location, it allows the skier to combine snow sport with a pleasant excursion through the mountains, as well as visiting picturesque villages of Cajón del Maipo. Created, directed and developed by the Andean Club of Chile since 1933, Lagunillas is the only non-commercial Ski Center in Chile.
Its skiable surface is of 200 hectares, within which 13 tracks of different degrees of difficulty are enabled. Due to its characteristics it is an ideal place to practice activities related to the mountain, Randonee and Snowboard. In addition, Lagunillas is one of the first centers where you can perform night skiing, mountaineering and off-piste skiing.
Lagunillas has 13 tracks whose degrees of difficulty vary between easy, medium, difficult and only for experts. The most popular tracks are Novicios, Pancho and La Lola of 350 and 1,100 meters in length. In addition, at this center you can practice night skiing. The Ski School of Lagunillas has qualified instructors both to begin the novices in the practice of this sport and to perfect the technique of those who have already skied.
At the Club Andean site, located at the access to the courts, you can rent accessories and equipment for skiing and snowboarding.
Only 52 Kms south east of Santiago, is accessed through Avenida La Florida, which connects with Route G-25 that penetrates east into the Commune of San José de Maipo. This Route penetrates the Andean buttresses, running parallel to the Maipo River that gives the name to this beautiful cordillerano drawer. It can also be reached by the Pan-American Highway (Route 5) and cross directly to the east at the height of San Bernardo passing through the town of Puente Alto to join the Route G-25. By both routes you arrive first at the picturesque town of San José de Maipo, 35 Kms from Santiago, where the 17-km mountain road starts and in 40 minutes leads to the Lagunillas Ski Center. In the winter season, the use of chains is mandatory from the Carabineros checkpoint.
