The origin of its peculiar name is due to the idea of its founder, Mrs. Ana Miranda Carreo, to baptize the restaurant, with the nickname that her husband had, Mr. Juan Barrera Macías. Don Juan y Medio earned this name because of his great height and weight (1.94 meters and 135 kilos).
This robust character had a great appetite, which was reflected in the abundance of dishes that his wife used to serve him, which are the same that are still serving in this restaurant, known for its excellent typical Chilean food both in our country as abroad.
