Description

The tour offers two perspectives on the night sky. First, you will study the Western astronomical view, including the universe, star brightness, and planets. Using a telescope, you can observe solar system objects, deep space features, and constellations while learning about cosmic formation.

Next, the tour shifts to an ethnographic astronomy experience, exploring how ancient Andean peoples interpreted the universe, the Milky Way, and celestial objects. Indigenous observers identified figures in dark sky areas that provided information about animals, water, rivers, schedules, and beliefs about life after death.

You will then learn to operate a telescope and observe objects such as planets, stars, binary stars, star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies, depending on seasonal visibility. At the end of the tour, you will receive a photo with the stars as a keepsake.
