Tepuhueico is a beautiful natural park located in the heart of Chiloé Island, Chile. Opened only a few years ago, it has quickly become one of the island’s must-visit destinations for nature lovers. The park protects native forests, rivers, and wildlife, offering a peaceful space to explore and connect with nature. As you walk through Tepuhueico, you are surrounded by the lush temperate rainforest typical of southern Chile. The air feels cool and fresh, filled with the scent of wet leaves and moss. The main trail takes you deep into the forest, where sunlight filters softly through the trees. Along the way, you might spot some of Chiloé’s native species such as the chucao, a small bird with a distinctive call, or even a pudú, one of the smallest deer in the world.
