This tour will take you to learn about the ancient relationship between the Atacama people, Pachamama and llamas, in a majestic natural environment. From walking alongside these noble animals to sharing stories and traditions with a local family, you will live a morning or afternoon full of history, culture and natural beauty. Whether at sunrise or sunset, this experience will be unforgettable. Itinerary and Activity Details - Morning departure (8 am to 11 am) The tour begins with a 30-minute ride in a vehicle, ascending up to 4,000 meters above sea level. Upon arrival at a local family's ranch, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast with views of the imposing Licancabur Volcano. Here, you will discover the ancestral history that unites llamas with Pachamama and the Atacameño culture. In addition, you will have the opportunity to take photos, videos and spend time with the local family, while hearing unique stories about their bond with the land and animals. - Afternoon Departure (6pm to 9pm) In the afternoon option, we start at 3pm with a visit to the town of Toconao, known as the “Stone Town”, famous for its orchards that sustain the region’s fruit cultivation. Then, we head to the Jerez Valley, where you can observe ancient agricultural techniques inherited from our ancestors and admire rock art on a 40-minute walk. As we move through the Old Forest, you will be transported through the alleys used by farmers, discovering the hidden stories of this enigmatic place. We end the afternoon at the Salar de Atacama, home to numerous bird species, including flamingos, which are an integral part of our Andean worldview. Here, we will tell you more about their cultural importance while enjoying a cocktail in this unforgettable landscape.
