Description

Embark on a challenging hike to the summit of Lascar Volcano. Enjoy a convenient pickup from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama, and travel to the base of the volcano. Hike to the summit and take in the stunning views of the Andes. Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama at 5:00 AM. Travel in a vehicle to the south, passing through the picturesque towns of Toconao and Talabre. Enjoy a delicious breakfast during the journey. After approximately 2 hours, arrive at the base of the volcano at 4,600 meters above sea level. Begin your ascent. Over the next 3 to 4 hours, hike to the active crater, with a deep plume of sulfur. Take in the stunning views of the Andes. If conditions permit, continue for another 40 minutes to the summit of the volcano, at 5,630 meters. The descent will take an hour and a half. Return to San Pedro de Atacama, where the tour will end at around 4:00 PM.
