Description

Day 1. Rainbow Valley Tour We start at 08:00 to 08.30 hours. We will travel to the west of San Pedro de Atacama to visit the Domeyko Mountain Range, a spectacular formation that runs parallel to the Andes. First we will visit the Yerbas Buenas sector, of great historical relevance for its rock art, since it has one of the most important groups of petroglyphs in the region. The tour will transport us to the time of the indigenous caravans, adding historical and cultural value to the experience. After crossing Matancilla, a sector rich in flora and fauna, we will find the Rainbow Valley, so called because of the variety of shades that can be seen in the surrounding hills: earth, reddish, brown, green, white and yellow colors. This, combined with the white salts and the blue sky, make for a unique place. Then we will visit the viewpoint where we will contemplate the Rainbow Canyon, where we will enjoy the landscapes that the desert offers us, including the cultural and geographical history of these places. 2. Moon Valley Tour. pick up: 15:00 to 15:30 hours. Valley of the Moon. The names already give a clear clue of the landscape, where reign the rock formations shaped by erosion, salt mantles, the Duna Mayor and views that will make you feel like on another planet. We will cross the valley transversely, visiting its famous rock formations: the Tres Marías, the Canyon and the Amphitheater. To finish the tour, we will enjoy the sunset from the viewpoint of Licarantay, where you can see how the desert is changing color, with large volcanoes on the horizon. Day 2. 3. Cejar Lagoon, 4. Eyes of the Salar and Tebenquinche We will visit a series of lagoons inside the Salar de Atacama, the largest salt flat in Chile. We will first visit the Ojos del Salar, two deep fresh water wells in the middle of the desert, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim. Then we will visit the Tebinquinche Lagoon, where we will walk along its path to appreciate the magnificent views, where the sky merges with the desert and the whiteness of the salt. The tour continues to the famous Laguna Cejar and Laguna Piedra, surrounded by green and yellow grass that highlights the color of the water, contemplating a unique landscape of turquoise waters and volcanoes. In the latter we will be able to enjoy a bath with which we will experience the floating effect, similar to the Dead Sea. To end the day, we will enjoy a snack while watching the sunset overlooking this lagoon. Day 3. 5. Tatio Geyser Tours Departure from your hotel at 05.00 to 05.30 am. We will go up the hills and mountains of the Andes. After an hour and a half drive, we will arrive at the Geysers, a unique natural spectacle in the world, with 80 steaming geysers at 4200 m altitude. Next to this natural scenery, we will enjoy a replenishing breakfast, and then tour the geothermal field, surrounded by numerous columns of steam.
