Situada a no más de 50 kilómetros del centro de Santiago, la Reserva Nacional de Río Clarillo está considerada como uno de los únicos bosques de la Región Metropolitana. La reserva también desempeña un papel fundamental en la protección y conservación de aves como el pinzón de sierra patagónico, el rayadito de cola espinosa y la elaenia de cresta blanca. Entre sus 13.000 hectáreas es posible encontrar tres diferentes senderos de trekking: Quebrada Jorquera, Aliwén Mahuida y Arboreto.
