Beliggenheten er ikke mer enn 50 kilometer fra sentrum av Santiago, er Rio Clarillo National Reserve betraktet som en av de eneste skogene innen Metropolitan Region. Reservatet spiller også en fundamental rolle i beskyttelsen og bevaringen av fugler som den patagoniske sierra-finken, tornhale-rayadito og den hvite fjelljomfruen. Blant sine 13 000 hektar er det mulig å finne tre forskjellige turløyper: Quebrada Jorquera, Aliwén Mahuida og Arboretum
