Morande Winery
The Morande story began 20 years ago in 1996 with a plan to make great and innovative wines of the highest quality with grapes from vineyards in Chile’s most interesting wine valleys.
In 2000 Empresas Juan Yarur, one of Chile’s most important and respected business groups took control of the winery and formed Grupo Belen, which includes the Morande, Vistamar, Mancura, and Fray Leon wineries.
Morande Winery were pioneers in creating and planting vineyards in Casablanca. Today the valley enjoys great international prestige and has opened the door to other coastal vineyards in Chile. Morande Winery was also the first to believe in the great potential of the Maule Valley and the old, traditional varieties seldom seen today, such as Carignan and País.
Morande Winery innovates in the production and marketing of Mediterranean varieties such as Cinsault, Carignan, and Garnacha, among others - even when no one else was interested.
Morande Winery's pioneering spirit has always led them to go a step beyond, and therefore, today Morande Winery is innovating with high-density crops to improve the quality of vineyards, which in turn is reflected in the quality of wines. Morande Winery is also among the first to adopt new enological practices such as using concrete ‘eggs’ and going back to using the traditional-but-forgotten large oak foudres for producing reserve-level wines.
Morande Winery is also the first winery to produce a late harvest wine in Chile and the first recognized as 100% sustainable.
