Casa Marin vineyard is located just 4 kilometers from the beach of the municipality of Cartagena.Maria Luz Marin, who today is among the most influential women in the world of wine according to the English magazine The Drinks Business, is the founder, owner and winemaker of Casa Marin. Nothing describes this vineyard better than the story of this woman who has fought hard to create an innovative vineyard that expresses in her fine and exclusive wines the uniqueness of the land of Lo Abarca.
Thanks to its location, Casa Marin produces fine wines from an extremely cold climate just 4km from the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Summer temperatures do not exceed 27°C and during the growing season average temperatures are below 14°C. According to the Amerine and Winkler classification, Casa Marin is in Category 1, where the coldest wine regions belong, such as: Germany, Austria, Alsace and Champagne. Because it is a Mediterranean climate there are many sunny days which allow a wide variety of grapes to ripe: Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Garnacha.Winery Casa Marin wines stand out for their extremely high quality. The production is very delicate, all being Single Vineyard, which means that each plot is harvested and vinified separately. All of wines have received over 90 points in Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. Sauvignon Blanc has twice won best Sauvignon Blanc in the world at Decanter World Wine Awards 2010 and Concours Mondial du Sauvignon 2010. Wine & Spirits magazine also chose Casa Marin 5 times among the 100 best vineyards in the world. The vineyard now is in the hands of the second generation.
