Things to do in Chile

This museum is a replica of the Esmeralda Corvette, which after 23 years of service sank in the Naval Combat of Iquique on May 21, 1879. You will find the details, accessories and equipment of the time and a didactic and entertaining way to know our history.

Replica of the ship Corbeta Esmeralda, Chilean boat insigne of the War of the Pacific, that after 23 years of service sank in the Naval Combat of Iquique on May 21, 1879 at the hands of its captain Arturo Prat.

Currently, the museum has become one of the places with the highest tourist demand in the north of the country, with daily guided tours and thirteen stations that show visitors from the history of the corvette and the War of the Pacific, the blockade of the Chilean squadron in Iquique and the reasons for creating its replica.
