Thanks to the support of the Chilean Army, the Naval Museum serves its visitors in room No. 6 of the Tarapacá Military Museum since April 30, 2015. Its temporary exhibition exhibits 25 original pieces of the Emerald Corvette and one of the Huáscar monitor. The Astoreca Palace is a property located in the historic center of Iquique, Chile. Its construction was commissioned by Juan Higinio Astoreca, a salt flat entrepreneur, in 1900 and was completed in 1901.Georgian style, built in Oregon pine and richly furnished, was declared a national historical monument in 1994. Today it works as a museum and center of extension of the Arturo Prat University.

The Plaza de Armas of the city of Iquique or simply Arturo Prat Square is the main square of the homonymous city in the Tarapacá Region, Chile which is constituted in an agglutinating heritage zone of several buildings listed as historical monuments: the Clock Tower, the Tarapacá Employee Protective Society Building and the Municipal Theater, which together are one of the most representative urban expressions of the salt flat period next to the Spanish Casino and the Croatian Club.

The Salt Flat Museum Corporation (CMS) was created by former inhabitants and their descendants of the nitrate offices, with a constituent assembly date on November 23, 1997. It was officially founded on November 11, 1999 according to Supreme Decree No. 912 of the Ministry of Justice, with Legal address in the city of Iquique Tarapaca Region, Chile.
It has a heritage consisting of all movable and immovable property formed by the Humberstone and Santa Laura Saltpeter Offices, declared World Heritage by UNESCO. Both salt flats are in the Commune of Pozo Almonte.
