Description

We'll pick you up from your place in Punta Arenas from 8:00 am. On the way north, we'll cross the Patagonian steppe, an endless landscape where guanacos, foxes, and rheas live. Our first stop will be at the historic Estancia San Gregorio, where you'll see the remains of the steamships Amadeo and Ambassador, which witnessed the region's pioneering past. Then we'll head to Pali Aike National Park, known as 'The Other Patagonia'. You'll walk through landscapes that look like they're from another planet: basaltic lava fields, extinct volcanic cones, and unique semi-desert vegetation. We'll check out the Pali Aike Cave, an archaeological site with human remains over 10,000 years old, and we'll hike trails that take us to mythical places like the Devil's Wells, the Devil's Abode, Laguna Ana, and the crater of the extinct volcano. During the hike (about 8 km, low-medium difficulty), you'll get to see wildlife up close in their natural habitat, while enjoying amazing panoramic views of this little-explored park. At the end of the day, we'll head back to Punta Arenas, arriving around 7:00 p.m., with the memory of having seen one of the hidden gems of Chilean Patagonia.
