Description
We sail by ferry through the Strait of Magellan to Magdalena Island. Upon arrival, we disembark to admire the Magellanic penguins, one of the iconic species of Chilean Patagonia. They are easily recognized by their black back and white belly — contrasting tones that help them evade predators while swimming. We will also have the opportunity to visit the Magdalena Lighthouse, a National Monument. It is very important that visitors respect the environment and the peace of this penguin colony, especially since Magdalena Island is a nesting area for this species.Includes
