Description
We'll pick you up directly from your hotel in Punta Arenas (urban area) or at a meeting point near the port for cruise passengers. From there, we'll start a tour through the history and culture of the southernmost city on the continent. The first stop will be Plaza Muñoz Gamero, surrounded by elegant mansions and the Cathedral, icons of the golden age of trade in the Strait of Magellan. We'll check out the Braun-Menéndez Palace, now the Regional Museum, which houses some amazing local history treasures.
Then we'll head up to the Cerro de la Cruz viewpoint to soak in some amazing panoramic views of the city, the Strait, and on clear days, even Tierra del Fuego. We'll head to the Sara Braun Cemetery, known as one of the ten most beautiful in the world for its architecture and gardens. You'll also check out the Monument to the Shepherd and the Maggiorino Borgatello Salesian Museum (admission not included), with its valuable natural and ethnographic collection.
To finish, we'll check out the waterfront with its iconic monuments: the Goleta Ancud, the Piloto Pardo, and the sculpture celebrating 500 years since the Strait was discovered.
It'll last about 3 hours.
The itinerary can change depending on the weather or the day of the tour.
