Description
This tour is designed to maximize opportunities to observe and photograph the puma in its natural habitat, in one of the most impressive landscapes in Patagonia. The experience starts early, with a transfer from your accommodation in Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine National Park. In summer, the pick-up is around 4:00 a.m. to arrive before dawn and take advantage of the best times for sightings.
Guided by a veterinarian who's an expert in local fauna, combining knowledge of ethology and photography, you'll learn about the behavior of these majestic felines and the unique environment they inhabit. During the tour, you'll not only get to observe the pumas in their habitat, but also understand their role in the Torres del Paine ecosystem.
We'll explore strategic trails and take optional walks, tailored to your comfort level. The walks will let you enjoy the natural beauty of the park, while the movement dynamics of the pumas are evaluated in real time. A 4×4 vehicle will make it easier to get to the best viewing areas, letting us move through the toughest terrain to increase the chances of spotting these cats.
At noon (12:00-15:00), we'll take a break to rest and enjoy a snack while admiring the scenery. We'll use this time to review the photos you've taken and give you tips on how to improve your photography skills.
This tour combines the thrill of wildlife watching with learning about the puma and its behavior, making it an educational and hands-on experience. You'll also be able to snap unique photos of the pumas and the majestic landscape of Torres del Paine, a National Park recognized as a World Biosphere Reserve.
