Description
We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning to start this trip outside the city. The sightseeing tour to Piedras Rojas and the Altiplanic Lagoons will take us to important tourist attractions within the Atacama Desert. To reach the Piedras Rojas Lagoon, also known as the Salar de Aguas Calientes, we'll ascend in our vehicle to an altitude of 3,800 meters and take a 1-hour 15-minute hike to admire the impressive red rocks, as well as nearby lagoons and salt flats. Then, we'll visit the Miscanti and Miñiques Altiplanic Lagoons, where our tour guide will provide us with information about the local flora and fauna. We'll also pass through the village of Socaire and the Tropic of Capricorn, where we'll stop to take photos. To round off the tour, we'll stop at the Laguna Chaxa at sunset, a perfect time to observe flamingos in the magical light of the setting sun. Finally, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama to end our sightseeing tour.
The order of the places visited is subject to change on the day of the sightseeing tour.
During the winter season, due to snow accumulation, access to the Miscanti and Miñiques Lagoons may be closed. In this case, the visit to these lagoons will be replaced by a visit to the Tuyajto Lagoon.
If winter snow closes the Miscanti/Miñiques Lagoons, a full refund is guaranteed.

- The included pick-up service is not available for accommodations located outside the urban area of San Pedro de Atacama.
We do not provide pick-up from accommodations located in the ayllus near San Pedro de Atacama (Quitor, Yaye, Checar, Sequitor, Solor, and Coyo) or from accommodations in the town of Toconao.
- The tour ends between 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM at Plaza Touristour.
