Description
Between 6:30 and 7:00 AM, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Puerto Natales to begin the excursion to Torres del Paine National Park.
Starting at the Sarmiento Lake entrance, the approximately 2-hour Aonikenk Trail hike crosses the Patagonian steppe, offering views of the Paine Massif and vibrant blue glacial lakes. The trail is ideal for spotting local wildlife such as guanacos and native birds. After about an hour, you will visit an archaeological site featuring cave paintings over 10,000 years old, created by the region's earliest inhabitants.
Next, the tour continues to Pudeto to admire the Salto Grande waterfall. From there, you will undertake a 2-hour round-trip hike to the Cuernos Lookout, one of the park's notable viewpoints. Afterward, return to the campsite for lunch and rest while enjoying views of the Paine Massif.
In the afternoon, a moderately steep 2-hour round-trip hike leads to the Condor Lookout, which sits 350 meters above sea level. From this vantage point, you can see Paine Grande, the French Valley, the Cuernos del Paine, and Pehoé Lake. Along the way, the park's unique flora and fauna are commonly seen.
The excursion concludes with a return to Puerto Natales around 7:00 PM.
