Description
Discover the soul of the Atacama highlands in an experience that brings together ancient traditions, artisan hands, and landscapes that seem to be suspended between the land and the sky. Our tour begins in the village of Socaire, a small Andean community located more than 3,200 meters above sea level, where time seems to move to the rhythm of its mountains and traditions. There you'll meet a local weaver who preserves ancient knowledge inherited from her ancestors: the creation of fabrics using cactus spines as part of a unique artisanal technique of the region. Through this close encounter, you'll be able to hear her stories, learn about her tools, and discover how each textile has a deep relationship with nature, family memory, and the identity of the Atacama people. More than a craft demonstration, it will be a moment of connection with a tradition that remains alive thanks to those who keep it alive and share it. We will then continue our journey to the Miscanti and Miñiques Lagoons, located in the heart of the Los Flamencos National Reserve. At more than 4,000 meters above sea level, these calm-water lagoons reflect the volcanoes that surround them, creating one of the most impressive landscapes in the Chilean highlands. As you take in this scene of color, silence, and vastness, you'll learn about the importance of these ecosystems and the life that thrives in one of the most extreme environments on the planet, home to diverse species adapted to the high altitude. An experience for those who want to get to know Atacama beyond its landscapes: walking through its villages, listening to its stories, and discovering the deep connection between people, nature, and the mountains that have been part of the Andean communities for generations.Includes
