Description
The excursion begins in Llanquihue, a city known for its sausages and as the source of the Maullín River, located on the Settlers' Route. Visitors will see Los Cisnes Beach and the Pier, offering views of the lake and surrounding volcanoes.
The tour continues along Lake Llanquihue’s shore to Frutillar, a town with Bavarian roots founded in 1856 as a shipping dock. Frutillar later developed tanneries, mills, and breweries. Here, guests can stroll among well-preserved German-style houses and gardens, with views of Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes.
Optional visits include the German Colonial Museum, which details settlers' history, or enjoying coffee with traditional German pastries. The waterfront features Teatro del Lago, known for hosting the annual Frutillar Musical Weeks.
Next, the tour proceeds to Puerto Octay, a town influenced by German culture and historically the first port for agricultural exports to Osorno. Visitors explore its historic streets and the Plaza de Armas.
