Description
We'll start at our agency or pick you up at your accommodation at 8:00 AM to begin our tour of the National Park. From Pucón, it's 50 kilometers. The first town we'll pass is Curarrehue, which means 'Stone Altar' in Mapudungun, the native language of the Araucanians. This territory is shaped by glaciers. We'll continue up the Trankura valley to the park, where we'll prepare our equipment and start the hike between coihues and raúlises for 3.2 kilometers with 700 meters of elevation gain. At the top, we'll find thousand-year-old araucarias and the forest opens up to give a view of the rock canyon. Here, we'll take a short break to put on our helmets, stow our poles, and enjoy the beautiful views of the valley. The next section is 700 meters with 400 meters of elevation gain, climbing on rock with fixed ropes. At the end of the hike to the base of the main towers, you'll have panoramic views of Lake Tromen, Lanín and Quinquil Volcanoes. Upon arrival at the base in the Boulder and bivouac area, we'll set up camp, enjoy a snack, and explore the terrain. Then, in the afternoon, there'll be a workshop on basic safety systems and climbing preparation for the ascent. To end the day, the guide will prepare dinner and you'll get some rest. The morning kicks off at 7 AM with breakfast and a mountain sunrise. Then, at 8 AM, we'll be at the foot of the track to start the climb. It's 5 pitches on the traditional granite rock climbing wall, a moderate-difficulty climb. Pitch 1: difficulty 5.9 with a 10a move - 55 meters Pitch 2: difficulty 5.9 - 55 meters Pitch 3: difficulty 5.10b - 55 meters Pitch 4: difficulty 5.7 - 50 meters Pitch 5: Grade 2 difficulty, a walk on rocks along a ridge, secured by a short rope for safety. The guide will open all pitches and you'll be belayed from above for safety. We'll have about 5 hours of climbing. You'll reach the summit of Sierra Millallifen, which is 2,018 meters above sea level, with incredible views of the Rukapillan, Quinquilil, and Lanín volcanoes, as well as Argentine territory, since it's on the border. Most of the time, Andean condors will accompany you. After enjoying the wonderful summit, we'll get ready for the 5 abseils, on a different line than the one we climbed but on the same face. We'll spend about 2 to 3 hours in this section. When we get to the foot, we'll put away the equipment and head to our camp. Here, we'll take a short break, have a snack to celebrate, and get our gear ready for the descent into the valley. At 7 PM, we'll arrive at the vehicle where we'll have natural juice or craft beer and a snack to celebrate this tremendous ascent. Then we'll head back to the agency or drop you off at your accommodation.Includes
