Enjoy one of the most magical experiences on Rapa Nui, starting your day with the sunrise in front of the 15 Moais of Ahu Tongariki, the largest ceremonial ahu on the island. As the sun rises over the Pacific Ocean, you will discover the history, meaning, and mysteries surrounding these imposing sculptures.
After sunrise, you will visit Rano Raraku, the volcanic quarry from which nearly all of the island's moai were carved. As you walk among dozens of statues, some still being carved or partially buried, you will learn how they were created and transported, and about the deep connection they have with the ancestral Rapa Nui culture.
