Teatro Nescafe de las Artes

Since its opening on August 6, 2009, the Nescafe Arts Theater hosts 85 events and nearly 250 performances every year, welcoming more than 220 thousand spectators and bringing them joy and satisfaction. In addition, it has been recognized as the first project to recover a heritage space without intervention or specific support from any public or government entity. The decision to rescue the old Marconi Theater, built at the end of the 1940s at Manuel Montt 032, from the pillory of oblivion, was a conscious act to prevent the inexorable fate of the vast majority of the wonderful theaters in Santiago. It was the public spirit of private people  Alfredo Saint Jean Domic, Irene Gonzalez Peña, Cristian Frederick Aldunate and Maria Eugenia Gonzalez Peña, partners of Engranaje Medios S.A. the exclusive driving force of this heritage rescue project. It was they who in 2008 decided to rent the theater, practically in ruins, to the Ghivarello Motto family and begin its transformation. To face the financing and management of the ambitious project, Saint Jean decided to incorporate the private effort, in the manner of the great branded theaters in the world (such as the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, the American Airlines in New York or the Opera Citi in Buenos Aires), and set its sights on a long-standing and prestigious brand  Nescafe. He didn't need to knock on any other doors, Nestlé opened it immediately. In the middle of the dismantled and still abandoned room, SaintJ ean proposed the project to Juan Pablo Cañas, senior marketing group manager at Nescafe, and since then they have been permanent partners and interlocutors. After nine months of intense work and careful planning, the reconstruction work began, which surprisingly only took four months. Time, resources and effort were dedicated to every detail from the stage that was expanded, to the carpet and seats, to the unexpected discovery of an orchestra pit that was recovered  all in order to create the best theater in Chile in its category. Thus, 50 years after its inauguration, the Marconi moved from darkness to light and was reborn as the Nescafe Theater of the Arts. Its select and varied programming is of the highest artistic quality and its management is developed around three fundamental axes Passion, Creation and Movement.
