The 3-day, 2-night tour of the Uyuni Salt Flats is an unforgettable experience that combines unique landscapes and adventures in the Bolivian highlands. The itinerary includes visits to the vast salt flats, the train cemetery, Incahuasi Island with its giant cacti, colorful lagoons (such as the Red Lagoon and Green Lagoon), geysers, hot springs, and surreal deserts. Visitors can enjoy clear skies for photography and, during the rainy season, the mesmerizing mirror effect of the salt flats. Basic accommodations and typical meals are included, making it perfect for those seeking extreme nature and breathtaking views.

Important Information

  • Itinerary may change due to weather or road conditions (especially rainy season Dec–Apr)
  • Very limited internet; on Day 2 it is often unavailable
  • Accommodation is basic and rustic; second night lodge is extremely basic; most places have no heating
  • In winter (May–Sep) nights are very cold; sleeping bag is included
  • Roads are rough, unpaved and bumpy
  • Rarely, the vehicle may stop briefly due to altitude or conditions; we follow safety protocols
  • Hot showers are included, but drought, gas shortages or frozen pipes may prevent them; about 75% of the time there is hot water, not guaranteed
  • Meals are basic but we try to provide a varied menu; basic vegetarian option available
  • During the rainy season, if the road to the salt lodges is flooded, overnight accommodation may be changed to a regular hostel in Uyuni and Incahuasi Island could be closed
  • Sunset depends on good weather
