Cochoa Beach Lookout

Located only steps away from Renaca, the Cochoa Lookout or “Loberia” (sea wolf spot) is unique in its kind. Especially dedicated to the admiration of sea wolves and rock formations, this overwhelming site works as a great window to observe the coastline in a close way. Also, close by is the awarded building of Oceanic Sciences and Natural Resources Faculty of the Valparaiso University.
To reach this curious lookout point there are different accesses; In addition to driving a car, it is possible to use a bicycle and even go on foot, due to its proximity (3 kilometers) to the renowned Renaca resort.
The main attraction is the beautiful view tof herds of sea lions that rest and have fun in this rocky beach terrain. One of the ways to distinguish this site is to appreciate how the beach is filled with rocks, becoming, a true ecosystem where birds, fish and, of course, sea lions coexist. Do not be surprised if you even find a variety of penguins that reach the central coast of Chile at some point.
Here it is possible to go down to the sand and enjoy the coastal wind, climbing some rocks and watching the sunset, which has become one of the favorite options for visitors. Another way to recognize this area is by the fun sea lion sculpture that precedes the lookout, which serves as an indicator for many tourists.
From the Cochoa Beach Lookout it is possible to appreciate a beautiful view of almost the entire coastal edge along with the colorful and diverse commercial and residential buildings. In addition, if you look carefully, it is possible to see from this lookout point the great Flower Seagull drawn in the middle of a hill.
