Description
This full-day excursion departs from El Calafate and explores the town of El Chaltén. The tour combines scenic stops, easy walks to viewpoints, and lunch at a local restaurant, all accompanied by a professional guide.
The tour begins with hotel pickup in El Calafate, then travels to El Chaltén. On the way, there is a brief stop at La Leona, a historic site near the Santa Cruz River, where restroom facilities are available and passengers may purchase homemade cakes and hot drinks (not included).
Weather permitting, the group will stop at the Viedma Glacier viewpoint to see panoramic landscapes of the glacier valley, Fitz Roy, and Torre hills. In El Chaltén, two guided hikes include the Condor Viewpoint overlooking the town, Las Vueltas River, and the surrounding peaks. After descending, lunch is served at Rancho Grande Restaurant.
The afternoon hike visits El Chorrillo del Salto, a 20-meter waterfall falling into a clear pool. The tour concludes with 30 minutes free time to explore El Chaltén before returning to El Calafate.
