From San Pedro de Atacama, a pre-climb meeting is held one or two days prior to review gear, weather, and safety protocols, ensuring participants are prepared and acclimated.

On the day of the climb, pick-up is between 7:00 and 7:30 AM from your accommodation. The drive to the trailhead starts at around 5,300 meters altitude, passing through unique Andean landscapes including rock formations and open valleys in the driest desert on Earth.

The ascent to the summit takes 1.5 to 3.5 hours depending on group pace and conditions. The route is stable and low in technical difficulty, requiring no previous experience but good acclimatization. Certified guides provide constant support, guidance, and strategic breaks for rest and photography.

Along the way, enjoy views of the Altiplano, the Atacama Salt Flats, and nearby volcanoes such as Licancabur, Juriques, and Sairecabur. At the summit, pause for rest, photos, and an optional traditional Andean gratitude ceremony.
