Description
Set out early from Puerto Natales and travel to Torres del Paine National Park for a scenic glacier navigation experience. After pickup from your accommodation in Puerto Natales, head to Hotel Lago Grey, where you will board the Grey III Catamaran and begin cruising across Lake Grey. Along the way, take in the dramatic mix of mountains, forest, and floating ice.
During the approximately 2.5-hour navigation, travel toward the striking Grey Glacier, one of the best-known natural landmarks in Torres del Paine. As part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, this vast glacier pushes into Lake Grey and creates the large ice floes that drift across its waters. You will have the chance to admire its towering ice walls and observe its three fronts from the boat.
As the journey continues, sail past Paine Grande, the highest mountain in the park at around 3,050 meters above sea level. The surrounding landscape, shaped by glacial activity, also reveals the distinctive tones of Lake Grey, coloured by fine mineral particles known as glacial flour. To round off the experience, enjoy a drink served with glacier ice before returning. The activity finishes with transport back to your accommodation in Puerto Natales.
