Description

Spend a full day discovering Patagonian rural life on an experience from Puerto Natales. Sail through the fjords to Estancia La Península, ride on horseback through open countryside, and take in views toward the Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers. The day also includes a traditional Patagonian lamb roast, a sheep shearing demonstration, and a chance to watch a sheepdog at work. Your adventure begins at 7:30 AM with departure from Puerto Natales and navigation toward the estancia. Along the way, admire mountains, fjords, and the wild scenery that defines this part of Patagonia. On arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a traditional countryside breakfast before getting ready for your horseback ride. Then ride across the estancia with a guide, passing through Patagonian landscapes until you reach a viewpoint facing the Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers. Back at the estancia, sit down to a Patagonian lamb roast cooked slowly for around 8 hours, served with salads, wine, beer, and dessert. Later, learn more about an essential local tradition during a sheep shearing demonstration, and meet Petaca, the estancia’s sheepdog, as she shows her skill working with the flock. The experience ends with the return to Puerto Natales.
