Description
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Vicuña to begin the journey to the Andes mountain range. The first stop is Huanta, a remote valley town, where breakfast is served in a traditional restaurant run by a local community woman.
After breakfast, you will travel to the Juntas del Toro border complex to register with the Chilean police—please bring personal identification for this step. From there, the tour continues to natural hot springs located at approximately 3,300 meters above sea level on the slopes of Cerro Las Tórtolas, the region’s second highest mountain, about 120 km from Vicuña.
The hot springs are nestled in a unique mineral landscape surrounded by distinctive flora and fauna. You’ll have the option of a short trek to a hidden waterfall inside a yellow canyon, with icy waters sourced from the mountain melt.
