Description
Sunrise – The Awakening of the Moai
Before the sun rises, we'll head to Ahu Tongariki, the most imposing ceremonial altar of Rapa Nui, where fifteen Moai stand facing the Pacific Ocean. Arriving in the twilight, when silence still reigns, lets you feel the grandeur of the place and anticipate the moment to come.
During the first light of dawn, the sky is tinged with intense colors that are reflected in the statues and the sea. It's a magical moment when nature heralds the start of a new day. Then, as the sun rises, the moai are gradually illuminated, revealing all their strength and spirituality, as if they were waking up along with the island.
In this setting, your local guide will share stories and legends that connect the worldview of Rapa Nui with this sacred moment, making the sunrise not only a natural show, but also a cultural and spiritual experience that will remain etched in your memory.
