Description

Enjoy an unforgettable evening in San Pedro de Atacama and discover why this desert has one of the clearest skies on the planet. This astronomy tour is designed for those who want to understand the night sky, not just look at it. We'll start with a welcome and a coffee break, using red lights to help your eyes adjust to the darkness. Then you'll learn how to find your way using the stars: the cardinal points, the ecliptic, and how to tell the difference between the twinkling of stars and the steady glow of planets. With powerful telescopes, we'll observe deep-sky objects and explore, in an entertaining way, the life cycle of stars: how they are born, evolve, and die. The experience is led by specialists trained in our own educational program in Atacama. To wrap up, we'll do an astrophotography session with a camera and professional development so you can take home a unique souvenir. We operate outside the town, away from light pollution, on clear nights (except on dates close to the full moon).
