Description
Join our experience and explore one of the world's great natural wonders on an unforgettable 6-day trip from Cusco to San Pedro de Atacama. Travel the Route of the Sun during the day from Cusco, arrive in Puno by 5:00 pm to spend the night, and the next day enjoy a full-day visit to the highest lake in the world, Lake Titicaca. Spend the second night in Puno. On the third day, at 6:00 am, we'll head to La Paz for a city sightseeing tour. In the afternoon, we'll take a tour of the Witches' Market and ride the cable cars for breathtaking views of the city.
From Cusco to San Pedro, we will gradually gain altitude and acclimatize; for example, the city of Cusco is at an altitude of 3,399 meters (11,152 feet), Puno at 3,827 meters (12,557.77 feet), La Paz el Alto at 4,079 meters, and the Salar de Uyuni ranges between 3,665 and 5,000 meters. Throughout the trip, we'll only spend one night on a bus. It's important to get a good night's sleep so that we can make the most of the experiences during the day.
For the vast majority of travelers, the trip from La Paz to Uyuni is pleasant and comfortable, and you can sleep well at night, since the bus has bed-style seats, heating, and a bathroom. Upon arrival in the city of Uyuni, we will join our team for a fantastic experience lasting 3 full days, ending in San Pedro de Atacama.
In Uyuni, we'll join up with our team: an experienced 4WD Jeep driver and a bilingual guide for three days of one of the most wonderful and unforgettable experiences: the Train Cemetery, the Uyuni Salt Flats, Incahuasi Island and its giant cacti, an overnight stay in San Juan or Colchani in a salt hotel, magical colored lagoons, Laguna Colorada, barren landscapes, wildlife such as vicuñas or guanacos, flamingos, an overnight stay in Huayllajara in hostels, llamas walking in Eduardo Avaroa National Park, the Salvador Dalí Desert, the Stone Tree, Polques Hot Springs, and the Sol de Mañana geyser, with its bubbling hot springs and steam in the morning. Our team will help you at the Hito Cajón immigration checkpoint to board our transportation to San Pedro de Atacama, where we will end our 6-day experience in the Andes of Peru and Bolivia.
