Directions to Bar Liguria

Nightlife in Chile

The Bar Liguria opened its doors on August 10, 1990 on Avenida Providencia 2682, right next to the traditional Monix perfumery and under the old Radio Mining. It was a small room, with no more divisions than the kitchen and the bathrooms; with a staff - among owners, chefs and garzones - that did not exceed half a dozen.

A good sample of what has always been served at Chilean tables can be found at the Liguria Bar. Traditional recipes such as casserole, lentils with sausage, baked silver, breaded pejerreyes, noodles with mechada meat, charquicán or fried cochayuyo; prepared under a strict process of selection of ingredients and a kitchen with technology, but with an experience that guarantees great taste. You can also choose a good selection of traditional and new sandwiches, machas a la parmesanas , pichanga or chicken pil pil.

At the time of drinking, we have an excellent wine list, beers and spirits plus a bar staff that performs with mestría all kinds of orders, from pisco sour to wines with fruit. Everything to the client's pleasure.

The best restaurants in Santiago de Chile
The origin of this confectionery goes back to 1879. A family of the santiaguina aristocracy had a butler, José Domingo Torres, famous for his good hand to prepare mistelas, alfajores, pheasants, civet and other delicacies. So this famous cook was requested on loan by other owners of family friendly houses. This situation became so extreme that the boss, bored with almost no services, decided to install his own business. The house that the Torres confectionery occupies was the Íñiguez palace, built by the architects Alberto Cruz Montt and Ricardo Larraín Bravo for the family of Antonio Íñiguez Larraín. Regular customer of this confectionery was President Arturo Alessandri Palma. The anecdote says that the presidential delegation passed by the Torres and the President exclaimed: "I'm scared of thirst, I walk with the hot irons"; He ordered his car to stop and went inside to drink a cane of chicha. For the celebrations of the Centennial of Independence in 1910, the honor Vermouth was served here to the diplomatic corps. Confectionery Torres, Alameda The Torres confectionery however had a decline that made its former owners finish it in 2002. Its new owners are the Commercial Engineers Claudio Soto Barría and his wife Patrizia Misseroni Raddatz. The task was enormous to perfect it; They took a year and their cost to fix it was 500 thousand dollars (three hundred million pesos). Exiled from Colombia, its owners wanted to pay tribute to the nation that hosted them, baptizing this meeting place with the same name as an emblematic folklore song from the coffee country.

In addition to offering a wide range of drinks, liquors and snacks with products brought exclusively from Colombia, they set up a sort of artistic spell day after day, giving space to various musical expressions of the Latin American songbook through a first class cultural program that It includes storytelling, music, tango, cueca and boleros.

In 2012 the premises expanded, which implied a considerable increase in its capacity and also the arrival of a new menu-menu, with the inclusion of new dishes that contain a strong influence of Colombian food
