Totoralillo Beach
Located about 27 km south of La Serena and 17 km from Coquimbo, this small and cozy beach is considered one of the best in Chile for surfing. It stands out for its sands and clear waters, and actually consists of two beaches separated by a peninsula, surrounded by hills of wild vegetation.
Local tourists begin to arrive in the spring, to take advantage of the first days of sunshine and warm temperatures at the edge of the cold sea. In the summer, this destination fills up with people coming from various points in the region and even from neighboring countries.
For such purpose, Totoralillo has a camping area, inns and two large parking lots. It is not possible to get there by public transportation, but in the high season, tours from the neighboring cities are organized and they last one or several days. Furthermore, you can get there on your own by taxi or bus, taking one that will drop you off at the entrance to the resort and then go down on foot or hitchhiking.
One of the first surfing schools in Chile is also located here, so you can venture into this sport without taking any major risks.
