A fine French-inspired restaurant in the trendy Bellavista area of Santiago, which is populated by restaurants and bars; Le Fournil is one of the best to choose from. Upstairs is where the restaurant is located inclusive of a nice outside terrace; try to be seated on the terrace to soak up the charming atmosphere. The menu is typically French; for breakfast or brunch, an appetising selection of pastries and pain au Chocolat are on offer, to accompany a smooth coffee or an Asian tea. For lunch the most popular item is the empanadas; they come in a variety of fillings and are similar to a Cornish pasty.
It’s recommended to visit Le Fournil for an evening meal and afterwards head downstairs to their famous jazz club, which has been labelled the best in Santiago. Downstairs you can enjoy authentic South American jazz and unwind with one of the many cocktails they serve behind the bar. The waiting staff are characterized by their friendly service, and despite being in a very desirable location the price remains reasonable. The contrast from the French cuisine upstairs and the Latino music and international drinks beneath make for a great night which is far more than just your average restaurant meal.
