Quando ci chiedono dove fare snowboard in estate, di solito li mandiamo all'area del resort Nevados de Chillán, situato a 5 ore a sud di Santiago in treno o in auto oppure tramite un breve volo a Concepcion. Vale davvero la pena il viaggio rispetto ai resort del nord. Se stai per fare snowboard in Cile, non puoi perderti i Nevados. L'antico Valle las Trancas era un rifugio vietato letteralmente sorvegliato. C'era solo un casinò clandestino sulle pendici del vulcano attivo; un vulcano che aveva incredibile neve polverosa leggera e divertenti discese tra gli alberi.

Nevados de Chillán e la valle Las Trancas si sono trasformati in un paradiso per i turisti avventurosi. Con gli impianti che ti portano direttamente alla base dei vulcani, alcuni dicono che è come surfare sulla neve sulla luna.
 
Viste epiche, halfpipe naturali nelle grotte di lava, sporgenze ventose levigate e opzioni di tour con splitboard per giorni. Puoi anche fare snowboard urbano poiché l'hotel è piuttosto liberale nell'usare l'hotel per rail, ecc. Il rider Elias Elhardt mostra come si fa.
