At COP26 in 2020, the world expects to hear how nations will meet their Paris commitments. In preparation, this year’s D&C Days will explore the ambitious actions and transformational systems that countries are using or need to do this. The two-day event will bring together thinking from various sectors – food and agriculture, finance, cities, infrastructure, biodiversity – that are seeking coherence and cross-cutting partnerships to ensure climate resilience for all.
At D&C Days we share learning experiences by engaging, being productive and having fun. The dynamic format encourages dialogue on a range of issues that link policy, knowledge and practice. Innovative approaches encourage participants to interact, challenge existing thinking and generate new ideas.
They welcome everyone at the frontline of sustainable development and climate agendas to join us at D&C Days, including practitioners, NGOs, grassroot organisation representatives, national climate leaders and policymakers at all levels.
The 17th annual D&C Days will carry forward conversations from the event ‘Building a Resilient Future’ held at the UN Climate Action Summit in September 2019, building on the five themes:
Building resilient food and agriculture systems
Early warning, early action to leave no one behind
Financing a resilient future
Establishing resilient cities, infrastructure and energy systems
Working with nature to build resilience
Within each theme, we will tackle big questions, seek effective and practical answers, and work together on fair solutions that leave no one behind. Throughout the event, they will consider how transformation of systems, gender equity, lived experience and local knowledge, and transparency and downward accountability can help deliver a resilient future.
