En medio del altiplano chileno y a menos de una hora de San Pedro de Atacama, está la reserva privada de las Termas de Puritama. El río Puritama cruza la reserva por el medio de un cañón, formando piscinas termales a 3.500 metros sobre el nivel del mar.



Situadas en medio de un cañón, estas aguas termales se han utilizado durante cientos de años. La temperatura del agua se mantiene entre los 28 y 31 grados centígrados con una importante concentración de minerales, entre los que se encuentran el calcio, el magnesio, el sodio y el boro. Hay 8 piscinas a las que se puede acceder fácilmente a través de paseos marítimos.
