El nombre de Concepción proviene del Fuerte que se construyó allí para defender la ciudad. También se llama Cerro del Chivato, nombre de un ser mitológico que en teoría vivía a los pies del cerro, en la Cueva del Chivato, secuestrando a cualquiera que pasara por allí durante la noche.

En el Cerro Concepción se puede encontrar un gran ambiente y muchos vendedores locales con artesanías y cafeterías. Mucho color entre sus murales.
